Legislation Update: Current Hawai'i Legislation Affecting Birth Choices

Aloha, I think it is safe to say we all agree that a woman should have the right to choose her provider, her birth setting and her pain management modality. Please educate yourself on current legislation being addressed right now in Hawai'i's Sate Legislature, and consider acting against the state's move to limit Hawaiian women's choices in childbirth.

If you are pregnant (or thinking of getting pregnant) or are supporting someone who is pregnant, then this is the site for you.

After hearing too many times, "There are midwives on Maui?", or, "What's a doula?", I decided to create this website.

My goal was to create the mother of all Birthing Yellow Pages for Maui!

I've tried to contact every person on the island I can think of who is part of the Maui Birthing Community: midwives, obstetricians, doulas, chiropractors, prenatal yoga, childbirth educators, breastfeeding specialists, postpartum professionals, local retailers, free events, Hawai'i legislation affecting birth choices... the list is endless. (If you can think of someone else, please let me know!)

I hope you find the information useful. If I don't have what you're looking for, please email me and I will do my best to manifest it (or them) for you!

Good luck on your birthing journey! Please remember you have choices, you have a voice, and you have a responsibility to find caregivers you trust!

If you contact a practitioner from this website, PLEASE PLEASE tell them you got their info from Maui Birth Source. I get your wonderful calls everyday, but advertisers need to know directly that they are getting business from being on this site. Thanks for keeping this wonderful resource going!
